It appears that Nintendo is slowly attracting software developers once again for potential partnerships thanks to the groundbreaking concept of its upcoming console, the Switch. Recently, Electronic Arts boarded the promising ship containing other third-party developers who have already pledged to collaborate with the Japanese company for upcoming titles for the hybrid console.

Speaking at the Credit Suisse Technology, Media, and Telecom Conference, EA chief competition officer Peter Moore revealed that they are bringing "major" games to the device. This is despite the fact that Nintendo previously had some problems in terms of their relationship with content developers due to their penchant for making consoles that are slightly less powerful than its peers.

"Nintendo has always been and will always be an important part of this industry," the former EA COO said. "We've had a relationship that goes many decades back. They've had some difficult times recently, obviously, but [you should] never ever, ever discount Nintendo in this marketplace, and their ability to leverage their superb game development opportunities [and] their intellectual properties."

While Moore did not necessarily name drop the titles eventually coming to the hybrid console, he continued to tease that they will be involved as much as possible moving forward.

"We're going to watch with interest," Moore said, referring to how the Switch will eventually impact the gaming market. "You can rest assured that EA, as with every major publisher, is in regular conversations with Nintendo."

Aside from EA, Capcom has also pledged their support for the Switch, joining Ubisoft who has showered the console with nothing but great words even before it was publicly launched. Meanwhile, although Bethesda Softworks has some stipulations in regard to their potential setup with Nintendo, they are open to the possibility of making their games compatible with the Switch.

The Nintendo Switch is tipped to pack in the sales power once it finally hit the shelves sometime in March 2017. More details regarding the console are expected to be released next year with Nintendo's press-only event to be held in New York on Jan. 13, 2017.
