The latest update of Nintendo Switch, version 4.0.0, is now out. It contains some much-needed features including file transfers, video capture and a Redditor discovery — wireless headless support.

With the latest update, players can now record the previous 30 seconds of their game, and even edit it and share via Facebook or Twitter. This can be done by simply holding down the Capture button, and the video will be saved in the player's gallery. This feature supports the games "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," "Arms" and "Splatoon 2."

As for "Mario Kart 8," which is still in version 1.2.1, the announcement said the video capture feature will be supported in the deluxe version 1.3.0.

With the new Switch update also comes the ability to transfer user and save data to another system. It should be noted though that doing so will remove all the data from the original console. This gives Switch users a chance to transfer their games should they decide to purchase a new console.

In addition, players can now pre-purchase and pre-load selected games from the eShop, allowing users to play new games as soon as they arrive. The News feed gets a new look, which will make it easier for players to unsubscribe to channels with irrelevant posts. Twelve new user icons from "Super Mario Odyssey" and "Breath of the Wild" are also made available in the update.

Lastly, players can now match their software version with a group of local users. A player must have Switch version 4.0 to join a group.

While all these were announced on the Nintendo website, the new Switch came with a secret update, which Redditors were quick to discover. Players have noticed that the updated system can detect wireless headsets, so long as they are connected via USB. A test performed by Polygon confirmed this welcome news. No concrete list yet on compatibility so players would personally have to try if their wireless headset will work.
