The action role-playing video game "Nioh" will be having its first paid downloadable content (DLC) coming in less than a month.

Developer Koei Tecmo announced earlier that "Nioh" will be having its first paid DLC called "Dragon of the North" on May 2. In a translated version of the news on Gematsu, the upcoming DLC is said to allow players to "venture deep into Japan's embattled Northern provinces."

"Dragon of the North" will also include a free player-versus-player (PVP) update. Aside from this, it is expected to bring in other contents. Particularly, the new DLC will include new weapon types, stages, and scenarios, as well as new characters, guardian spirits, and yokai.

At the moment, no other details are revealed specifically regarding the rest of the new upcoming contents. Nonetheless, the price for "Dragon of the North" has been released.

For those who are interested in the upcoming DLC, along with other two contents in the future called "Defiant Honor" and "Bloodshed's End," a season pass is available for 3,000 yen or about $24.99. On the other hand, players who only want "Dragon of the North" may purchase it individually at about $9.99.

"Nioh" was released in February exclusively for the PlayStation 4 gaming console. Taking place in the Warring States Period of Japanese history, the game allows players to portray the character William. The protagonist is described as a blonde-haired man with deep knowledge and experience in swordsmanship that enables him to survive the demon-plague world of the samurai.

The game tests the player's skill, patience, and strategy through its different battles and levels. "Nioh" also features an online co-op gameplay in which players can join together to fight and defeat the villains.

"Nioh" has generally received good feedback. For instance, the title is rated 9 out of 10 on GameSpot, 9.5 out of 10 on PlayStation Universe, and 9.6/10 on IGN.
