Hello Games' previously released procedurally generated open universe exploration video game, "No Man's Sky," was met with much controversy as it failed to meet the extremely high expectations of its would-be players. However, the company has now broken their silence after months of being in reclusion by releasing a major update to the game which they are offering for free for everyone who purchased a copy.

Gamers who were sold into the hype of the game probably have their copy of "No Man's Sky" stashed somewhere to gather dust. However, they now may have a reason to jump into their spaceships once again as the new update, called the Foundation Update, promises to give players what was initially promised with the original game. The game's developer also explained that the update itself will be the first of many free patches it will be releasing for the game, which seems to be the company's way of making up for the false promises it had given its fans when the game was first released.

The update itself is quite significant as it adds a plethora of brand new changes and content to the game including three new game modes. Each mode will change the way the game is played as players have to adhere to different rule sets. The Normal mode is the standard exploration experience in the original game, while the Creative mode allows players to explore the open universe without any hindrances, while also allowing them to build huge bases and starships.

The base-building feature allows players to perform specific tasks within their new habitat including farming, engineering, weapons research, and scientific experiments. The game's new Survival mode, on the other hand, is an entirely different experience as players have to consider all of the environmental elements in the game for them to flourish.

Aside from the new modes, the update also includes some visual and graphics changes to the game including the addition of motion blur, temporal anti-aliasing, and TAA effects.
