After going underground for quite some time, Hello Games reemerges bearing the latest update for "No Man's Sky's" that will hopefully help the game overcome the initial disappointment that it has given fans.

The Foundation Update, which went live earlier this week, aims to kick-start a series of patches that will improve the overall gameplay of "No Man's Sky." True to its name, patch 1.1 is said to introduce "the foundations of base building, and is a foundation for things to come." It will be "the first of many free updates."

Given that, a video game buff from Reddit with the handle eegandj is said to have discovered multiple files that may already be the groundwork for future patches and add-ons for the action-adventure survival video game.

In the supposed hidden chest are some items that might eventually come in the future like a yet to be completed 3D model of the ground vehicle, icons, textures as well as a folder which is coded "buggy." While this may not be a confirmation that the specific data mine will be trotting in the 18 quintillion planets in the game, it is an indication that Hello Games is still actually working on the title. It can be remembered that the company drew major flak when they seemingly went silent following a lot of issues upon "No Man's Sky's" release. Due to that, the game quickly became one of the most negatively reviewed games on Steam.

Since the Foundation update has not been on the market that long to merit a verdict in terms of how it will help the title moving forward, it is quite difficult to say right now whether it will be enough to bring "No Man's Sky" back to gamers' consciousness. It had been such a promising release just before rolling out a couple of months back because of its dynamic gameplay not to mention its ambitious theme. Unfortunately, all of its promised features were absent when the game finally went live causing disappointment among fans. But since the patch has gone live, a reported increase in PC gamers has been tallied which could be a good sign in terms of redemption for the title.
