In a few months, a new game is about to revolutionize the gaming industry as "No Man's Sky" is gearing up for its long awaited debut. Last month, the game even won The Most Anticipated Game of 2016 at The Game Awards, and while game creator Sean Murray and his team wasn't able to make it to the event, he made sure to thank fans for voting for the game by tweeting, "THANK YOU for voting NMS your Most Anticipated Game of 2016 at #TheGameAwards- sorry we couldn't be there."

In October, the game creator took to the micro blogging site to announce a release date for the game.

"No Man's Sky! June 2016! Let's do it team!" Murray wrote.

In his PlayStation blog post, Murray said that now that their release date has been clear, the game and some key developments "have fallen into place." He revealed that development is going well and knows that expectations are high for Hello Games' upcoming space epic.

"Our small team knows the world is watching, we've come from the bottom and we don't take it lightly," he said.

Murray revealed that before the game will be released, his team is making sure that they meet expections by adding more features, polish and diversity to their worlds. With 18 quintillion planets to explore in a vast universe, the game creator will certainly be needing a lot of time to refine the game before its release.

Last month, Murray spent some time with Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony's Worldwide Studios for Sony Computer Entertainment Inc., and Murray gave him a demonstration of "No Man's Sky" on the PlayStation 4 to give the executive a glimpse of the future of gaming.

The game creator described his game as "next Gen," adding that as a child he always thought of playing a game where one can just go anywhere. Murray also told Yoshida that one important element in the game involves a hyperdrive.

"That's a big thing for all players, whether you're a trader, or a fighter or an explorer. You would all like to upgrade your hyperdrive so that you can go further and further," Murray explained. He also revealed that players will have different starting points in the game, playing on different planets before they continue on their journey across the universe.

"No Man's Sky" debuts on PC and PS4 in June.
