Hello Games has announced that "No Man's Sky," its much-awaited adventure survival game that allows players to roam a sprawling procedurally generated universe, will be released on June 21, 2016. It is being made for the PS4 and PC and it is being set out to be the biggest, most ambitious game of the year.

"It's not like a typical video game," Hello Games co-founder Sean Murray said (via Stuff). The game boasts whopping 18 quintillion planets where various alien races live. These alien tribes actually speak their own language, and the longer players communicate with them, the greater their impression on them becomes.

Establishing rapport with these various creatures makes it easier to strike a deal or barter involving weapons or ships. "No Man's Sky" players, however, will have to watch out for the intergalactic force called Sentinels, who are out to get anyone who causes some trouble.

Murray knows that the execution of the go-getting idea behind "No Man's Sky" can make or break the game for Hello Games.

"I think people really like the concept, but it's very important for me to deliver on that," the game's creator explained.

Murray is also proud of the fact that "No Man's Sky" basically offers players an infinite list of things to do. With no conventional narrative governing the game, "You can be a good citizen of the universe or you can be a jerk, a space jerk. It's up to you."

Exploring the endless universe in "No Man's Sky" could take players "hundreds and hundreds of hours." There's so much to discover as each of those 18 quintillion planets is made unique. These planets were scrupulously shaped and crafted by folks over at Hello Games. It was especially challenging since Murray's team is rather small.

"No Man's Sky" will be released on June 21, 2016. Murray is confident it will be an "exciting" title for VR.
