It is all set for the release of the much-awaited space exploration title from Hello Games as the developer confirms that "No Man's Sky" is now in gold status.

Posting the update on Twitter, Hello Games executive Sean Murray wrote, "It's happened. No Man's Sky just went gold. I'm so incredibly proud of this tiny team. 4 years of emotions." This means that the game is set to go into mass production for both the physical and digital copies anytime soon for its projected Aug. 9 release.

The game was first announced in 2013 and was on the brink of being cancelled, though Murray and his team still pushed through with the development. "No Man's Sky" was first expected to release last year, though it is revealed that the original plan is for the game to launch in June 2016. However, early this year, Murray went on to announce that the game would be delayed, much to the disappointment of waiting fans. Murray even reported that he received death threats due to the setback. Meanwhile, the projected end of May release date was delayed for the second time, with Hello Games announcing the current release period.

This set of events led fans to wonder if the Aug. 9 release is already final, though with "No Man's Sky" finally getting into gold status, all seems set for a final release.

"No Man's Sky" has been one of the highly anticipated titles since it was announced, due to the scope and nature of the game. Receiving popular and positive feedbacks from its gameplay sneak peeks in the past, the game places players into an almost true-to-life size of the galaxy, and they must explore and discover worlds, letting their discovered planets thrive through trade, war, and continuous exploration.
