"No Man's Sky" is said to be scheduled for a third quarter 2015 release, but according to a report from Design & Trend, fans are speculating that game developer Hello Games will announce its definitive release date on June 8 because that is the date of rapper Kanye West's birthday.

The game and West have nothing to do with each other but the report explains that lead designer Sean Murray recently sent the rapper a message via Twitter stating, "I just wrote 3,000 lines of code and it compiled first time. Thought you'd want to know."

According to the report, the coincidence goes back to a game of numbers. West was born on June 8, 1977 and exactly 33 years later, Hello Games released its very first game titled "Joe Danger," making June 8 a significant date for the company.

June 8 being West's birthday and the release of the company's first game might be nothing more than a coincidence but Murray's recent tweet suggests that Hello Games might be planning to play on that coincidence. It has since been speculated that the company will reveal the final release date for "No Man's Sky" on that date.

The report from Design & Trend also points out that some fans believe June 8 will be the official release date for the game, but this would contradict previous reports that "No Man's Sky" won't be ready until the third quarter of the year. Others speculate that it may even be pushed back to 2016 due to the complexity of the game's nature.

"No Man's Sky" is an open-sandbox type of video game where the player is given a ship and is allowed to freely roam the galaxy. Players can interract with a planet's residents, collect resources, build a better ship, and more. According to a report from Ecumenical News, the game roughly has over 18 quintillion planets to explore.
