Apart from the 2018 version of HMD Global's flagship smartphones, Nokia 8 and Nokia 9, the Finnish tech firm is also expected to launch the mid-range Nokia 7 Plus later this year. The latest leaks available on the internet suggest that the upcoming handset will not be a typical mid-tier phone and could even match a high-end device, thanks to a dual-lens Zeiss camera.

As reported by Phone Arena, a tech tipster posted the alleged leaked renders of the Nokia 7 Plus on the Chinese social networking website Baidu. The images are included in what appears to be a presentation slide that could be used in the smartphone's launch in the coming weeks. The Nokia 7 Plus is said to sport a 6-inch screen display with 18:9 aspect ratio. While it is not specified in the presentation slide, the image hints that the phone could offer a Full high-definition plus (HD+) display.

Interestingly, the recent leaked photos on Baidu reveal that the Nokia 7 Plus will boast a dual-lens Zeiss camera, which was first featured in the top-tier Nokia smartphones in the past few years. The rear camera module will be a combination of a 12 MP and 13 MP Carl Zeiss sensors, and this camera setup can provide 2x optical zoom. The front-facing camera will have a 16 MP Carl Zeiss sensor.

The Nokia 7 Plus is also shown to pack with Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset with Adreno 512 graphics processing unit (GPU). The handset will also receive 4 GB of random-access memory (RAM) and 64 GB worth of built-in storage. It has an expandable storage via microSD card slot. The device features fast charging with a USB-C port, and it will run the latest Android 8.0 Oreo operating system out of the box.

HMD Global has yet to confirm the release date of its upcoming Nokia 2018 smartphones, although it is speculated that the new handsets will be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) later this February. Aside from the Nokia 7 Plus, the public can expect to see the updated Nokia 8 and Nokia 9 smartphones during the tech expo.
