Ever since HMD Global took over the Nokia label, the public has been given another great choice for a premium smartphone product. Following the successful launch of Nokia 8 last year, the expectations are high for the tech firm's next flagship. In spite of the lack of confirmation, the leaked case renders for Nokia 9 revealed the highlights of the upcoming handset, specifically the dual-lens camera setup and a rear-positioned fingerprint scanner.

After several weeks of speculation, it looks like the public is getting close to the actual specs and design features of the Nokia 9. This is because of a third-party accessory supplier for Nokia devices that posted the supposed case covers for the next flagship. The Amazon listing for the Nokia 9 cases include the images of the upcoming premium handset, which clearly shows the widescreen display with slimmer bezels.

Just like the Nokia 8, HMD Global appears to continue reducing the bezels around the smartphone display's edges. However, the case renders suggest that the Nokia 9 will not have an almost all-screen front design, due to a small notch at the bottom portion and a noticeable border on top of the display. Nevertheless, the Nokia 9 looks to follow the trend of 18:9 screen ratio in flagship phones this year.

Perhaps, the most important part of the leaked Nokia 9 case images is to confirm that the upcoming flagship will sport a dual Carl Zeiss camera, similar to its predecessor. It is not specified, however, if there will be a few improvements from the Nokia 8 dual-lens setup, as the case renders only show the cut-outs for the supposed two-camera module.

Another feature spotted from the leaked Nokia 9 case cover is the new position of the fingerprint reader. The cut-out found at the rear panel of the Nokia 9 case supports the idea that the biometric scanner will be transferred at the back. Although, tech enthusiasts have already been expecting this change ever since the rumored full view display of Nokia 9 broke out, as there will be no more room for the fingerprint scanner at the front.

Regarding the release date of Nokia 9, HMD Global has not yet announced its plans to release a new flagship handset in the near future. However, the rumors are rife that the Nokia 9 will be unveiled in the first months of 2018.
