Nokia Lumia 830 prices, preorders in UK; Windows smartphone to hit stores in October

Nokia's Lumia 830 is the company's newest take on offering a smartphone that provides customers with high-quality features and enhancements at an affordable price.

Majority of available pre-orders are being reportedly carried out in the U.K. with which retailers have already allowed pre-orders for the Lumia 830 alongside the Lumia 735, which have been deemed as Nokia's most affordable flagship handsets that run on Windows Phone 8.1 and come with the Lumia Denim update.

As the period of pre-orders has already started, such devices will be available in U.K. stores in early October, as reported by The Inquirer.

At present, pre-orders for the Lumia 830 can be made for SIM-free and unlocked handsets. Installment plans and contract prices for such device and other upcoming smartphones in the Lumia series introduced at the IFA event have not yet been announced.

One of the online retailers taking pre-orders for the said Nokia smartphones is Clove with which a suggested retail price of £300 has been put forward for the Lumia 830. The Lumia 735 comes at a lower price of £220. The devices have been confirmed to arrive in its store by the first week of October.

Meanwhile, for Unlocked Mobiles, the SIM free Lumia 830 will come with a price tag of £304.98 and the Lumia 735 for £224.98. The phones are expected to hit the store on the first of October.

Handtec has also announced that their price for the Lumia 830 is £324.99 while the Lumia 735 comes at £229.00.

Nokia's Lumia 830 will be the thinnest and lightest smartphone that runs on the Windows Phone, with a thickness of 8.5 mm and a weight of 150 g. It also features a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and a 5-inch Clearblack screen with 720 x 1280 resolution. It also boasts of a 10-megapixel Pureview camera at the back.

In terms of storage, the handset comes with 16 GB of internal storage which users can further expand by using a microSD card that supports up to 128 GB of memory.

As the Lumia 830 runs on the latest Windows Phone 8.1, it has been integrated with Cortana as well as Microsoft Office and Xbox apps. The phone also supports 4G LTE connectivity, runs on a 2,200-mAh battery cell, and allows wireless charging.
