OAC announces new national director

|PIC1|Based in north London with his wife Alison, he has been serving as London Director, active in evangelistic outreach and training programmes.

He said, "I would like my time as National Director of OAC GB to be a time of widening the influence of the mission, of growing the body of evangelists through recruitment of full time staff evangelists and continuing to get us on the streets, into the schools and anywhere else that we can go in order to continue presenting Christ by all means everywhere."

Mr Kennelly previously served as pastor of a Baptist church from 1989 to 1999. Increasingly, he felt called to full-time evangelism and OAC interested him with street evangelism as he realised that less people were coming to church.

Under his directorship, the London team has initiated a training programme ‘Streetwise’. Also, together with leaders from London City Mission, he has jointly headed the annual ‘Tell-A-Tourist’ outreach.

Mr Kennelly will officially take up his new duties from outgoing Director Dave Glover at the OAC Evangelists’ Conference. It is being held at Hebron Hall in Dynas Powys, Cardiff from 9 to 13 November.

In addition to professional evangelists, the conference aims to build up, equip and encourage all those serving in outgoing evangelism.

Practical communications workshops and speakers will be featured throughout the week, coming from a wide spectrum of ministry, speakers include Dr Hugh Osgood, Andi Markham, Simon Calvert of the Christian Institute and Peter Green.

Sessions will emphasise OAC’s creative outreach such as the innovative use of sketchboard illustrations, high impact object lessons and specialised children’s ministry.
