'Octodad: Dadliest Catch' news: Octodad comes to Nintendo Switch

The wait is over for Nintendo Switch gamers who have waited for the independent adventure video game "Octodad: Dadliest Catch" to come to their consoles. Young Horses Games announced the game will be available on the Switch on Nov. 9. Gamers can acquire the game through Nintendo's eShop.

They made the announcement via Twitter. People who retweeted the announcement and followed the account will have the opportunity to win a Super NES Classic gaming console.

Nintendo released a HD trailer of the game for the switch and it received good feedback from gamers.

The gameplay allows the players to control Octodad, a cephalopod in human clothing and is a father to a loving family of three: a loving wife and two beautiful children. The main objective of the game is to take care of Octodad's family and keep his true identity hidden. The main antagonist of the game is Chef Fujimoto. This chef is engaged in a warfare he started with the sea and all of its lifeforms. Chef Fujimoto is a sushi chef who aims into cooking all aquatic creatures including Octodad.

Players are tasked to conduct daily activities like getting dress, making coffee, gardening, shopping, and more. According to the developer, Young Horses Games, the story of the games is about a "Loving Father. Caring Husband. Secret Octopus." "Octodad: Dadliest Catch" is the sequel to the third-person video game "Octodad" released in 2011.

"Octodad: Dadliest Catch" received great reviews from critics after its release in 2014. IGN gave the game a 7.8 out of 10 score. The game critic commended the games funny element and brilliant storyline. The game received a 69% score rating from Metacritic. There is no information if the independent video game company will be making a third installment for the "Octodad" game series.

The game was originally released back on Jan. 30, 2014 and has been available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, and Linux.
