One has to wonder how well Kevin Durant and new head coach Billy Donovan will get along. But if reports are accurate, it looks like the two will get along just fine.

Durant, out for most of the 2014-15 season is set to work with Donovan next season and many are eagerly waiting to see how Donovan can live up to the task.

The Thunder have been up there but have somehow fallen short under former coach Scott Brooks. And the first order of business is to at least try and equalize Brooks' feat of leading the team to the NBA Finals during the 2011-12 season. That was the best the Thunder had under the Durant-Westbrook regime thus far.

One thing that many are questioning is Donovan's ability to survive the NBA waters. Though he was considered an NBA coach in the college ranks, it remains to be seen if Donovan fits the billing in the actual NBA.

But for 2013-14 NBA MVP Kevin Durant, Donovan's transition from the college ranks to the professional league should not be much of a problem. Durant knows that Donovan will just do fine, citing the former Gators' coach work ethic as a sign of good things to come.

Another person who thinks Donovan is the right man for the job is Thunder general manager Sam Presti. Presti explains that the move is part of the franchise's plan to cling on to Kevin Durant who is set to hit the free agent market next year.

With that said, all rumors surrounding the departure of Durant could encounter some rough sailing despite talks that multiple teams are (expectedly) going to make a go for the high-scoring forward.

Durant is expected to rebound with a flourish next season after an injury-plagued season kept him out of action for most parts of the current season.

And with that said, it remains to be seen if Durant and Donovan will hit it off as the Thunder look to get back on the winning track after missing this year's NBA playoffs.
