Will Kevin Durant be leaving Oklahoma City soon?

It is a fact that Durant will be an unrestricted free agent come the 2016 offseason and there is a big chance that KD could be seriously contemplating on hooking up with other NBA ballclubs.

Durant, last year's Most Valuable Player, is undoubtedly one of the players that teams will try to go after. Many believe that he could stay put but that was with the understanding that the Thunder had a franchise player who is undoubtedly the face of the ballclub.

But all that was before friend and partner Russell Westbrook went on a rampage, putting in MVP numbers as well in the absence of Durant who is trying to recover from injuries.

All these are of course speculations and it may all hinge on what Durant is offered. He has hinted before that he wouldn't mind playing in Washington but there are a lot of teams expected to go after him.

Among them include the New York Knicks, the Los Angeles Lakers, the Houston Rockets, the Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls and of course the Cleveland Cavaliers. To cut it short, teams with a wide open room of salary cap space are expected to make their respective pitches.

But of course, all would depend on Durant's preference which many believe could come in the final weeks before NBA free agency ends in 2016.

Among the stars who are most vocal about trying to lure Durant is the Lakers' Kobe Bryant. Though expected to retire initially, it seems that he is far from doing so. Despite being down with yet another injury, Kobe has emphasized that he intends to keep on playing as long as he can.

Could he and Durant hum? It is no secret that playing alongside Bryant has not exactly been a strongpoint for the Lakers and considering the stature of Durant, it would be interesting to see if the reigning MVP could seriously consider the Lakers as his possible next NBA team if he doesn't come to terms with the Thunder.
