Series co-creators Eddy Kitsis and Adam Hrowitz talked about some of the details about the upcoming episode in an interview with TV Line, saying that the story will unleash Cruella's story as well as delve into the life of the very elusive Author.

When asked about the possible happy ending for Cruella, Horowitz mentioned that the episode will show some hints about the possible end story of the Queen of Darkness, but they are hoping that fans will be surprised at the outcome. He also shared that Smurfit did an amazing job in portraying the role of the evil socialite.

The official synopsis for the episode reads:

In fictional 1920s England, viewers meet a young Cruella, whose oppressive mother uses her Dalmatians to terrorize her daughter. Cruella is confined to her mother's attic until a mysterious stranger arrives and empowers her to challenge her captor."

The episode trailer also shows the third Queen of Darkness' evil plan to kidnap Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and Regina's (Lana Parrilla) son Henry (Jared S. Gilmore).

The synopsis says, "Regina gains leverage to keep Gold from interfering with her plan to rescue Robin, but her trip to New York takes the backseat when she and Emma learn that Cruella has kidnapped Henry."

Aside from Smurfit, some of the guest stars in the episode include Patrick Fischler as Isaac, Kristin Bauer van Straten as Maleficent, Anna Galvin as Madeline, as well as Milli Wilkinson as Young Cruella.
