'Once Upon a Time' season 5 spoilers: Gold warns Emma about losing loved ones in episode 5

Emma Swan's (Jennifer Morrison) determination to complete her dark plans continue in the next episode of "Once Upon a Time" season 5.

Based on the promo video for the episode titled "Dreamcatcher," Emma will commission Merida (Amy Manson) to force Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle) to become the hero that the Dark One needs to be able to extract the Excalibur from the stone.

The promo shows Merida taking Emma's orders to bring Gold to the woods to train him to become a hero despite his plea to just let him go. But the former Storybrooke baddie tellls the Scottish princess that he can never be brave, to which she replies: "Yes you will be! You have to!"

The video also shows Emma's former friends Regina Mills (Lana Parrilla), Captain Hook (Colin O'Donoghue), Robin Hood (Sean Maguire), and Belle (Emilie de Ravin) discover the Excalibur hidden in the her basement. All of them are clueless about what the former Saviour is currently up to, but all of them are determined to stop her from completely tipping over to the dark side.

It was revealed in the previous episodes of "Once Upon a Time" season 5 that Emma brought the Excalibur back to Storybrooke from Camelot because she will need to be completely become the town's most ruthless villain. But her loved ones will not allow her to do that.

At the end of the promo video, Gold issues a warning to Emma, saying: "You will always lose the ones you love the most." He could be pertaining to his own experience when he lost his son Baelfire (Michael Raymond James) as well as his relationship with Belle because of his evil ways.

Will Emma stop her evil plans based on Gold's advice?

"Once Upon a Time" season 5 episode 5 airs on Sunday, Oct. 25, on ABC.
