Emma Swan is switching to the dark side in "Once Upon A Time" season 5. The person who was once the Savior and the bringer of happy endings in Storybrooke becomes its worst nightmare. Actress Jennifer Morrison, who plays the role, is currently preparing for this 360. 

"In order to build Dark Emma, I've been doing a bunch of research there with some of their mythology books and old fairy tale books and just looking back through the history of swans and the etymology of 'Swan,'" the actress told People Magazine. 

"Villains are fun to play as an actor, but no matter what, it's also just fun to have something new," she said. "It's so rare to go into season 5 of a show and feel like a character is evolving and changing at such a drastic pace that I really get stretched and challenged on a daily basis." 

In order to give Regina her happy ending with Robin (which Zelena rendered useless, unfortunately), Emma became the Dark One. There's only one way to bring her back to normal and it could only be done by Merlin.

Currently, ABC is searching for the actor to play the part of the wizard. The search is also on for another character, King Arthur, who Bustle thinks will be a villain in season 5. The network describes the character as a "master manipulator" and "controlling," which suggests that he may be more of a baddie than a hero. 

Apparently, the next season will also show more of Rumple's history. ABC is currently in search of a "stunningly beautiful" woman in her 20s or 30s and one that's "strong and imbued with an unshakeable sense of self-confidence" to play the role of Rumple's mother in flashback scenes. 

Series executive producer Adam Horowitz recently revealed via Facebook that writers are back on their desks working on the season 5 premiere script, which is expected tbe completed anytime soon as "Once Upon A Time" season 5 filming will commence next month. The series will return on Sept. 27.
