March 1 is still a few weeks away and "Once Upon A Time" fans are rearing to get the latest news about their favorite drama before it comes back on air. 

ABC Network released the official synopsis for the midseason premiere of "Once Upon a Time" season 4, which reads:

"Gold reunites the queens of darkness. With Gold banished from town, the residents of Storybrooke attempt to resume their normal lives. Hook and Belle search for a way to release the fairies from the Sorcerer's hat, while Emma, Henry and Regina continue to look for clues that could lead them to the Author. But when a terrifying darkness descends on the town, Emma and Regina are forced to confront the true nature of evil. Meanwhile, in New York, Gold and Ursula enlist Cruella De Vil to join their cause." 

"Once Upon A Time" series creator Adam Horowitz recently told ET Online that the show's characters will have to prepare for their upcoming battles after the events that happened during the first half of the season.

According to Horowitz, "When a new event occurs at the start of the season you'll see that they're all once again thrown into turmoil and there's a lot to deal with and we're really interested in seeing it play out."

Horowitz also mentioned that instead of dealing with the direct effect of the first half of season 4, they will let the characters learn from the past to be able to prepare for what is in store in the remaining episodes.

Also, several photos surfaced showing the green villainess Zelena (Rebecca Mader) back in the Storybrooke set. 

Regina's (Lana Parrilla) wicked older sister, who was earlier stabbed by Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle) in the final episode of season 3, will reportedly return in the coming episodes after fans took snapshots of the "Lost" actress donning her signature green make-up, complete with the pointed black hat and long black gown.

"Once Upon A Time" season 4 will return on March 1 on ABC.
