'Once Upon a Time' season 6 spoilers: Belle to return to Storybrooke

Fans of "Once Upon a Time" will finally get to know more about Belle (Emilie de Ravin) when the series returns to ABC for its sixth season.

It was revealed that Mr. Gold's (Robert Carlyle) lady love was pregnant with their child at the end of season 5, but she was trapped in Pandora's box and was placed under a sleeping curse. However, it seems like she will manage to break free from her captivity, based on the statements of showrunners Adam Horowitz and Eddie Kitsis during the 2016 San Diego Comic Con as reported by Zap2it.

According to Horowitz, "As soon as the premiere episode, we'll be digging into Belle's story. She won't be trapped for long."

De Ravi also teased that her character will make her way out of the box next season.

"She's back in Storybrooke. And you learn a lot about Belle and her family in the process. And there's some cool obstacles she has to face and questions that are posed toward her future and her decision-making about what she shall do," the actress stated.

Another story arc that fans should look forward to at the beginning of "Once Upon a Time" season 6 is the Aladdin story, where the Disney characters Aladdin (Deniz Akdeniz), Jasmine (Karen David), and Jafar (Oded Fehr) will be introduced. But compared to the Disney animated film, the plot of Aladdin will be given a darker twist as it gets intertwined with the lives of the Storybrooke heroes.

"We're not going to pull any punches with Jafar in terms of being a really dark and evil character," Horowitz told The Hollywood Reporter.

Kitsis also revealed that Aladdin and Emma's fate as Saviors will be discussed in the upcoming season.

"We find out that Emma is not the first, or the only. I would say that the fact that there's another Savior out there and last year we dove into Dark One mythology, I'd say this year we're going to dive into Savior mythology. That's kind of how Aladdin would impact our characters," he said.

"Once Upon a Time" season 6 will premiere on ABC on Sept. 25.
