'One-Punch Man' episode 9 'Unyielding Justice': Genos nearly killed

"One-Punch Man" episode nearly saw Genos's final fight. According to a report from Design & Trend, Genos faced off against the powerful Deep Sea King on his own as Saitama and Mumen Rider make their way to help him and save the rest of the city refugees.

Deep Sea King will be significantly more powerful, apparently growing stronger after defeating the A-Class hero Lightning Max and S-Class hero Puri-Puri Prisoner. He also defeated Sonic, who is technically not a hero, forcing the latter to retreat. It was because of this exponential growth that gave Genos a difficult time in the fight.

Genos attempted to distract the Deep Sea King, long enough for everyone to escape. However, during the fight, things switched over to the Deep Sea King's favor after he successfully hit Genos with his acid spit. The acid melted through Genos' armor and the cyborg nearly died if it wasn't for Mumen Rider coming in to rescue him.

Despite this, it was reported that the battle between the Deep Sea King and Genos would be the highlight of the episode and this proved true as the majority of the episode focused on Genos' heroics. However, at the end of the day it was Saitama who once again proved to be the hero to save the people.

As stated in a report from Yibada, Saitama's arrival was late as usual. "Caped Baldy" has made it a habit to be arrive last on the scene, almost beat for beat similarly to the main character of the "Dragon Ball Z" franchise, Goku. However, his arrival ensured not only the safety of the city but that of Mumen Rider and his sidekick Genos as well.

Despite the Deep Sea King being able to hit Saitama directly in the head, it didn't do much damage and Saitama once again won with his signature one-hit punch. The Deep Sea King, defeated, is heard again in the preview trailer for episode 10 where he reveals there is a foe even greater than him, hinted to be Lord Boros.

"One-Punch Man" airs every Sunday.
