One of the anticipated surprises in the return of "One Punch Man" is the resurrection of Lord Boros. A storyline that is also expected for season 2 is how Saitama developed his incredible powers.

According to Crossmap, "One Punch Man" season 2 will start off where season 1 ended with the episode titled "The Strongest Hero." In the finale episode, Lord Boros was able to counteract many of Saitama's attacks because of his regenerative abilities. But in the end, Saitama defeated Boros with the use of his "serious punch."

News Everyday reports that season 2 will have darker and more powerful villains which Saitama will struggle with. One of these villains will be Lord Boros, who is speculated to return after he has been resurrected.

Saitama might also have a fight with Amai Mask, a Class A Rank 1 hero who blamed the S Rank heroes for the destruction of their belovedcity.

Aside from new and darker villains, "One Punch Man" season 2 could possibly explore how Saitama acquired his super abilities, according to CBR.

In season 1, when Genos asked how Saitama developed his strength, the bald hero explained his simple training routine for three years: sit ups, push ups, and squats of 100 repetitions each and a 10-kilometer run every day.

It is speculated that Saitama's routine was too simple for him to gain his unbelievable super strength, and some fans believe that the real origin of his powers will be revealed in season 2. Also, the reason behind how Saitama lost his hair after he ganied his powers is anticipated to be revealed next season as well.

The last update for "One Punch Man" season 2 was when its production was confirmed by Yusuke Murata in 2015 on one of his Twitter posts, according to Anime Corner.

"One Punch Man" season 2 is expected to be released in 2017.
