"One Punch Man" season 2 will be premiering before the end of the year, and as previously reported, it may even begin this October once the English-dub version of season 1 airs its finale. A report from the IBTimes suggest that season 2 will see Saitama and Genos go their separate ways.

The two have been depicted as very close allies and they have sparred in the past as a means for Genos to get stronger. However, it is hinted that they will have a falling out and their next battle will be serious and may end with Genos leaving Saitama. It is unclear if Genos will side with the enemies or simply start a solo superhero career.

Lord Boros, the final enemy Saitama fought in season 1, is also set to return in season 2 and will want to ask Saitama for a rematch. However, Vine Report reveals that there are rumors of Saitama momentarily losing his powers and this will discourage Boros because he wants to fight and beat Saitama at his full strength.

Whether or not Lord Boros and Saitama do get to battle each other again it is expected that Saitama will be fighting a few new villains in season 2 such as Amai Mask and Garou, both of whom had been teased back in season 1.

The IBTimes also reveal that the secret of Saitama's incredibly strong punches will finally be explained in season 2. Fans of the original manga will already know how this all took place but this will be the first time the backstory will be adapted for the anime.

In the original manga, Saitama became powerful after training every single day doing 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups and running 10 kilometers and eating a balanced diet. He also turned his air conditioning off and the manga explains he became inspired after defeating a monster that was set on harming a young child.
