China-based company OnePlus is going all out for their next-generation "flagship killer." So far, the OnePlus 2 is confirmed to sport a "lightning quick" fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C port. CEO Pete Lau recently hinted via Weibo that the device will don a full-metal frame.

In slowly lifting the veil off the flagship, OnePlus officially announced that the OnePlus 2 will pack 4 GB RAM. As OnePlus said, the LPDDR4 RAM is "the latest and greatest on the market." Aside from "never-before-seen energy saving features," this RAM will make the device quick and snappy.

In other news, OnePlus set the record straight about the leading rumors that the OnePlus 2 will be priced higher than $500. Debunking the "estimates," the company posted a photo of Lau with the quote, "I can promise that the OnePlus 2 will be priced under $450."

To solidify their point, the tech firm also took to Google Plus to reaffirm their commitment to what they do, saying, "Honestly, it's never been about the price." The company admitted that "we simply make the best smartphones we can, and we go from there."

OnePlus first talked about the OnePlus 2's pricing in a post where they revealed that the flagship's value "will certainly be higher than $322," since the company invested on an updated, overheat-free version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, which the handset will have on board. In another occasion, Lau also hinted that the OnePlus 2 will be around $400.

But the announcement about the handset's real pricing comes as good news for OnePlus fans. The company's first ever flagship, the OnePlus One, came with a stellar specs sheet for a pocket-friendly price. This ultimately gave the company a boost and it is how it instantly earned quite a following.

The OnePlus 2 will be fully unveiled in a virtual reality event on July 27.
