OnePlus 2 Mini rumors: Device stars in benchmark listing, shows off stellar pecs

It looks like users will get to see the long-rumored OnePlus 2 Mini after all. The second undersized version of the China-based tech firm's flagship was recently spotted in a GFXBench benchmark listing, showing off a portion of its specs sheet.

The device showed up with a 4.6-inch display with a 1080p screen resolution. This apparently brings about a stellar 479ppi pixel density, which GSM Arena points out is a bit questionable considering the handset's display size.

However, it seems that the OnePlus 2 Mini, although smaller, packs quite the setup. This is because it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor on board with a hefty 4-GB RAM in tow. Users will have 64 GB of storage to use up too. Running in the background is Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

The smartphone also sports a 12-MP rear-facing camera, though it isn't listed to have high-definition video recording. GSM Arena points out that the listing states the handset generates 4,160 x 3,120 pixels, which means the camera is actually 13 MP. On the front is a 5-MP selfie-snapper.

The aforementioned publication suggests that the so-called OnePlus 2 Mini in the benchmark sounds more like a Compact, the same as that of Sony, which likes to squeeze in the specs of its flagship to a smaller build.

Comparing it to the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact, the OnePlus 2 Mini is obviously more powerful and higher specced. While they both have the same display size, Sony's offering only goes by a 720p resolution. It also has a more advanced processor.

As for the OnePlus X, which was marketed as a mini version of the current OnePlus flagship, its specs are lower in comparison to what the benchmark listed for the OnePlus 2 Mini, making the latter device seem more like a compact version.

At present, the release date of the OnePlus 2 Mini is still unknown. Other specs like its battery capacity also remain to be seen.
