The OnePlus 2's release continues to linger in the air but for the impatient folks, Motorola may have a couple of new smartphone alternatives for you.

First up is the Moto G, something that can be bought as early as now. According to an article from Computerworld, pricing for the device starts at just $180 for the 8GB model, which seems to be a tempting offer. 

For that price, you get a 5-inch 720p display, a 13-megapixel camera, and an improved Qualcomm processor. The phone seems to be designed for rugged use, being water resistant. The price gets bumped up for an upgrade in specifications. At US$220 for the 16GB model, the phone is still affordable and something anyone can get right now.

Another new Motorola device, which could land in September, is the Moto X. The more impressive-looking device will come with a 5.7-inch display, a 21-megapixel main camera, and a 5-megapixel front camera. Utilizing a fast-charging technology as one of its highlights, the device will run on a battery that should be good for 10 hours and require just 15 minutes to juice up via wall outlets.

An unlocked version of the Moto X starts at $400.

The OnePlus 2 itself, as expected, is oozing with powerful specs. Set to be unveiled next week, the device will have a 5.5-inch display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB/4GB of RAM, and more features such as a USB Type-C charging port.

The OnePlus 2 will be priced starting at $389, although the matter of availability again comes into mind.

Do remember that OnePlus devices have become fascinating that it seems a bit hard to get hold of one. The OnePlus 2 is no different, and that could make some buyers seriously consider the Moto G or the upcoming Moto X.

Of course, the commercial launch of Moto X is still a month away; but if you are the type who wants a lot of bang for a buck, there is the Moto G which is already available.
