Under normal circumstances, folks who are looking to buy the OnePlus 2 would need an invite to get one.

Although such seems to be the case right now, Amazon India did hold an open sale for the said device last Oct. 12, although it was limited to just one hour.

For those who missed out on that one, there was a similar sale held on Oct. 13, making it two days in a row that Amazon India offered folks an opportunity to get their hands on the device that made its way into the market last August.

With the promotion over and done with, it remains to be seen if Amazon India will be holding future open sales to its customers. A look at the site right now will show that the device (OnePlus 2, Sandstone Black, 64 GB) is only available for purchase for people who have an invite.

For a quick breakdown on what makes the OnePlus 2 something to consider, here are some of the specs it carries.

The OnePlus 2 totes a 5.5-inch full HD display and banks on a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 processor. It is further supported by 4 GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel main camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, a USB Type-C reversible port, and a 3,300 mAh battery.

The OnePlus 2 is priced at Rs 24,999 or roughly $385 for the 64 GB storage variant.

Per the site details right now, purchases for the said device is limited to one unit per customer and that stocks are limited.

The OnePlus 2 is something that many see as a possible rival to Google's Nexus 6P. The OnePlus 2 offers higher specs and a lower price but the thing that most dread the most is the fact that it is hard to come by since it would require an invite.

Other than that, OnePlus seems to be surviving with the tactic, although some would not mind hearing of another open sale for it soon.
