It is said that OnePlus is thinking of releasing a follow-up to their OnePlus 2 next month. Speculations seem to support the idea, as supposed leaks of the specs, including the camera setup for the upcoming OnePlus 3, start to float online.

According to WCCFTech, a sample image taken with the main camera of the new OnePlus 3 is circulating online. Based on the sample photo, OnePlus may have heavily upgraded its camera setup since the image is much better than those taken with previous OnePlus iterations. The industry follower mentioned that although the OnePlus 3 is only rumored to come out with a 16MP shooter, the assembly has been upgraded to include a wide-aperture camera.

A wide aperture, plus the improved camera sensors, means that users will be able to capture images that is almost on par with above-average point-and-shoot cameras. The setup works best in low-light conditions, since it will still capture bright and clear images. In addition, the improved assembly also adds other features such as in-depth camera controls, and may even possibly incorporate 4K video recording and slo-mo video editing.

Meanwhile, since supposed leaks have started cropping up, it is rumored that the OnePlus 3 is coming out soon, maybe possibly as early as May. Some observers have surmised that the OnePlus 3 will be unveiled in the last weeks of May, and may start shipping out as early as June.

According to speculations, not only will the OnePlus 3 carry a heavily improved camera, but the overall specs will get upgraded as well. The new flagship is expected to carry a Snapdragon 820 processor. In addition, it is said that the OnePlus 3 will come in two versions. Reportedly, there will be a base model with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage, as well as a premium edition with a massive 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
