While it is believed that OnePlus will be unveiling its 2016 flagship soon, details about the upcoming OnePlus 3 are scarce. However, recent supposed leak may have confirmed some of the upcoming iteration's specs.

According to GizmoChina, a recent AnTuTu benchmark page may have listed the general details on the upcoming OnePlus 3. In the list, it is specified that the device has a model name of OnePlus A3000, running on Android 6.0.1. However, it can be expected that instead of stock Android, the flagship will come pre-installed with OnePlus' own OxygenOS, with Android Marshmallow as a base model.

In addition, the upcoming flagship is also listed as featuring the latest Snapdragon 820 processor paired with 4 GB of RAM. Internal storage is also listed, with the OnePlus 3 supposedly having a 32-GB onboard storage.

In terms of camera, the benchmark listing also revealed that the upcoming flagship will have a 16-MP main snapper at the back, while the selfie camera at the front will feature an 8-MP setup. Other specs supposedly leaked on the document include a 5.5-inch Quad HD display with 1080p resolution.

As for its release date, recent speculations have suggested that OnePlus may be launching the new flagship next month, as the tech manufacturer confirmed an April 7 event for China. However, the company has already denied the rumors, saying that "The April 7 event is focused on the China market. We will not be launching our next device then."

A mid-2016 outing for the OnePlus 3 is highly plausible. Previously, an exclusive with CNET already stated that the new flagship will be coming "at the end of the second quarter," according to OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei. This means that fans may expect to see the next "flagship killer" by June or July this year in a global release, since OnePlus has also already revealed it will going for a more traditional marketing approach, rather than a pure invite-only strategy for the OnePlus 3 release.
