If the latest reports are anything to go by, the OnePlus 4 will be a beast of a smartphone when it sees the light of day by next year. The so-called flagship killer has been in the rumor mills for quite a while now with the latest bit of news concerning the display of the OnePlus 3 successor.

The OnePlus 4 will reportedly boast a 2K resolution display, which will be a major jump from its predecessor, which had a Full HD (high-definition) screen with 401 pixel density. The size of the display is expected to stay the same at 5.5 inches.

The force under its hood will reportedly be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 processor, the latest from the manufacturer.

This chipset is expected to be the first from Qualcomm to be built on a 10-nanometer technology, which means that the OnePlus 4 can harness more power and performance while keeping a slim figure. Interestingly, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 processor can actually handle 4K resolution and 8GB RAM. OnePlus 4 is expected to take advantage of the latter.

OnePlus 3 already had 6 GB RAM, so it will be logical for the China-based tech company to bump it up for its next-generation flagship smartphone.

However, if the reports are to be believed, the company will not make its jump to the 4K scene just yet, although its would-be rival, the Samsung Galaxy S8, is expected to do so.

Thanks to the new and powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, the OnePlus 4 will also be able to double its native storage from 64 GB to a whopping 128 GB.

As for the battery, rumors have it that it will be much bigger than its predecessor at a massive 4000mAH (the OnePlus 3 had 3000mAH only), which should be enough to last a while.

Users can expect to see the OnePlus 4 in the flesh by June or July next year, a year after the OnePlus 3 was introduced.
