Leaked information about OnePlus 5, the successor to OnePlus 3, surfaces on the Internet. Meanwhile, the anticipated features of OnePlus 5 is expected to be at par or better than Samsung's S8.

OnePlus is currently shipping its OnePlus 3T model, which is known to be the fastest charging smartphone in the world and which became Editor's Choice for the month of November by American media CNET.

However, BGR reports that information about the OnePlus 3T's successor, OnePlus 5, is already surfacing the Internet and that it will be launched within the year. The Chinese manufacturer skipped OnePlus 4 and named the successor OnePlus 5 because the number 4 is believed to bring bad luck in China.

Roland Quandt from WinFuture found the public listing for OnePlus A5000 at the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, which includes details about the phone's frequency. The OnePlus 5000 is believed to represent the upcoming OnePlus 5, because the model number for OnePlus 3 was OnePlus 3000, while the one for OnePlus 2 was OnePlus 2000.

Although specs information about the new OnePlus 5 is scarce, it is anticipated to have features that will be at par or better than Samsung's S8 smartphone. With this said, the OnePlus is expected to have a 5.5-inch display with a 2K resolution, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with up to 8GB of Ram, and a 3,000 mAh battery.

One of the hottest new features that patrons of OnePlus are waiting to see in OnePlus 5 is a 23-megapixel dual-lens camera with optical image stabilization and optical zoom. It will also possibly be carrying a secondary 16-megapixel camera. Other speculated features of the OnePlus 5 can be found in GSM Arena.

The page indicates that OnePlus 5 will also be a dual sim standby smartphone with fingerprint sensors and that it will be able to charge 60 percent of its battery in 30 minutes.

However, OnePlus has not released an official list of features for its new flagship phone.

The OnePlus 5 is anticipated to be launched this 2017.
