OnePlus had kept its future flagship plans under wrap. This move has made the public guess if the company would indeed release the OnePlus 6 or the OnePlus 5T. Just recently, the Chinese handset maker confirmed that the iterative upgrade of the OnePlus 5 will be arriving instead, featuring an all-new design with bezel-less display and AMOLED screen. Latest leaks also show that the OnePlus 5T will bear resemblance to Oppo R11S.

As reported by Business Today, OnePlus top executive Pete Lau revealed the impending launch of the OnePlus 5T. Lau showed that the OnePlus 5T will be different than the previous OnePlus 5 flagship, and most of the changes can be found on the smartphone's front panel. It is said that the OnePlus 5T will sport a bezel-less design with an 18:9 aspect ratio. This feature is perfect for users looking for the best viewing experience, not to mention that slimmer bezels have become a trend in the flagship devices of 2017.

Leaked benchmark listing for the OnePlus 5T also shows the handset having an 18:9 aspect ratio display. Based on the benchmark leaks, the upcoming flagship device will be similar to the recently-launched Oppo R11S, NDTV reported. There may be some major differences, like Samsung's AMOLED display technology to be used by the next OnePlus flagship. The OnePlus 5T is said to feature a 6-inch AMOLED screen without an in-display fingerprint reader. To stay true to its all-screen front design, the OnePlus 5T will have the biometric scanner at the rear panel, just below the camera.

Reports also suggest that the OnePlus 5T will highlight a huge improvement over the OnePlus 5 dual camera module. This time around, the dual-lens camera setup will now include a special RGB sensor and one monochrome snapper. Same with the previous device, the OnePlus 5T will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC under the hood. The processor boasts a 2.45GHz clock speed, paired with Adreno 540 GPU. The OnePlus 5T will receive either 6GB or 8GB RAM. The device will arrive in two memory variants, the 64GB and 128GB internal storage options.

Lau revealed that unlike previous flagship smartphones this year, the OnePlus 5T will keep the 3.5mm headphone jack, a decision that is welcomed by many users. The OnePlus 5T is expected to be unveiled in Manhattan, New York, this November with more details coming up until the big day.
