After the launch of its latest smartphone flagship late late year, OnePlus is expected to unveil a brand new high-end device in the next few months. According to the latest reports, the OnePlus 6 will come with Qualcomm's 2018 premium mobile processor, the Snapdragon 845, along with 6GB of random-access memory (RAM). The handset is also expected to boast some hardware upgrades, including a more powerful dual camera setup.

Per the latest OnePlus 6 leak, the smartphone will include the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chip under the hood, with a clock speed of 2.7GHz. This is consistent with the earlier specs rumors saying that the OnePlus 6 will use the successor of the Snapdragon 835 chipset.

The device will also have 6GB of RAM and 128GB built-in storage, although the previous leaks show a larger 8GB RAM and 256 internal storage capacity. The discrepancy might be due to the OnePlus 6 having two different storage options. To note, the OnePlus 5T came with the 6GB/64GB and 8GB/128GB RAM and storage variants.

The OnePlus 6 is tipped to sport a 6.28-inch AMOLED display with 2,280x1,080 pixels resolution, similar with the earlier scoop regarding the handset's screen features. The OnePlus 6 is said to have a screen-to-body ratio of 19:9, leading to the device's taller appearance. The phone will run the latest Android 8.1 Oreo update out of the box, and powered by a 3,450mAh battery.

The 2018 flagship is believed to sport a notch feature on the top portion of the display, akin to Apple's iPhone X design. Although, it is not clear if the OnePlus 6's notch will contain the sensors required for a facial recognition technology, similar to the iPhone X's TrueDepth camera. The specs leak suggests an impressive camera anyway, with a 20MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture. The rear camera will receive a combination of 20MP and 16MP sensors, each having f/1.7 apertures.

OnePlus has no confirmed announcement yet about the price of its upcoming flagship. The leaks also do not offer any idea regarding the OnePlus 6's 6GB RAM variant, but it is assumed that it will be priced a bit higher than the same variant of OnePlus 5T. In spite of a slightly bigger cost, the OnePlus 6 is still expected to be a cheaper premium handset alternative over the real expensive devices from Apple and Samsung.
