The successor of the 'Nexus killer' smartphone, the OnePlus One, will undoubtedly be known as the OnePlus Two and will obviously be loaded with hardware specifications that will exceed the performance barrier of the OnePlus One while maintaining the same competitive price tag. According to Android Headlines, the CEO of the startup company OnePlus, Carl Pei, stated that the upcoming smartphone is going to "surprise" people.

As for the operating system that the upcoming device will be running, PC Advisor states that the OnePlus Two will be running the company's custom platform, which is known as the OxygenOS. The tech firm has not confirmed the following, but the website has stated that rumors are disseminating, stating that there will be a smaller variant of the OnePlus Two, dubbed the OnePlus Mini.

The OnePlus Two is expected to be announced during Q2 or Q3 2015 and while the hardware specifications of the smartphone have not been detailed by the company, the OnePlus Two will definitely be powered by the 'top of the line' components. Currently, the high performing chipsets incorporated in to Android devices are the Snapdragon 810 (HTC One M9, LG G Flex 2, Xiaomi Mi Note Pro), the Exynos 7420 (Samsung Galaxy S6) and NVIDIA Tegra X1 (NVIDIA's 4K micro-console).

Out of all of them, Qualcomm's offering will most likely be present in the OnePlus Two, seeing as the chip maker's Snapdragon 801 was present in the OnePlus One. It is also possible that the OnePlus Two will also feature a microSD slot, which is a sizable upgrade over its predecessor (the OnePlus One was void of an expandable storage slot but is currently being shipped in the 16 and 64 GB configurations).

As for the pricing, OnePlus will be looking to maintain the same price tag that was stamped on to the OnePlus One in order to maintain its aggressive pricing strategy.
