OnePlus Two to be unveiled today?

The official invitation from OnePlus posted on its Twitter account.Twitter

OnePlus is planning to start the week with a big surprise.

Last week, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer sent out invitations for a big announcement that will be held today, April 20. Because of the invite made through its Twitter account, speculations claim that OnePlus may be planning to unveil the latest OnePlus Two earlier than expected.

Previous reports mentioned that the new OnePlus Two will be unveiled in the third quarter of this year, but the event could mean that they will move the announcement date of the product exactly a year after the OnePlus One was shown to the public.

The mobile phone manufacturer impressed the smartphone market when it released its affordable flagship product dubbed as the OnePlus One back in 2014. That is why a lot of its loyal customers are eagerly waiting for the follow-up release from the company.

If the OnePlus Two will be unveiled, it is expected to come out with a 5.5-inch QHD display with a 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution. It will also be equipped with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC paired with a 4 GB RAM and a built-in 64 GB storage that can be expanded with the help of its microSD card slot. It will also have a 16 megapixel primary rear-end camera and a 5-megapixel secondary front-facing secondary camera as well as a 3,300 mAh battery capacity.

But aside from the OnePlus Two, the Chinese mobile phone manufacturer might be also dropping news about the OnePlus One Lite. Based on reports, this device will feature several improvements from last year's flagship phone product, but it will be more affordable compared to the OnePlus Two.

If the OnePlus Two would be included in the OnePlus announcement today, it would be safe not to expect to see the product in the market immediately, since the first flagship product was shipped in stores in June last year despite being announced in April.
