OnePlus has made it clear that something "powerfully beautiful" is coming but the Chinese tech firm always shied away from revealing what the tech world is about to see from them. However, they have been dropping hints about what is being tagged as the OnePlus X.

The aforesaid device is said to be released on Oct. 27 and leaks are popping here and there, showcasing the handset's look and specs before it is even unveiled. This time though, with a release date close at hand, users learn an important bit about the device.

A photo from Weibo shows that the OnePlus X will come in black and white variants. But more than that, the image hints that the smartphone might come in a sleek glass back, which will be something new from the company that always opted for plastic rears.

Meanwhile, with less than a week to go before the launch, teasers from OnePlus itself trickle in. The latest promo image hints that beauty is "in the making" and that the product users will see in the flesh in a few days' time is "like nothing else we've made before."

OnePlus X is rumored to come in midrange specs. It will reportedly feature a 5-inch full HD display and will be 6.9mm thin. Under the hood will allegedly be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor complete with a 2-GB or 3-GB RAM to boot.

Users can take pictures and selfies with the 13-MP rear-facing shooter and the 8-MP front-facing snapper on the device. Users can store all of those photos as well as other files, music, apps and games on the handset's 16-GB inbuilt storage, which, thankfully, is expandable with a microSD card.

OnePlus X is expected to be priced around $250. Whether or not all this info is accurate, users will find out on Oct. 27 during the special OnePlus launch event.
