Fans expect the upcoming Oppo flagship to come out early next year. However, recent reports state that the new Find 9 will not come in the first quarter of 2017.

According to GizmoChina, a post on Weibo by an internal staff at processor maker Qualcomm reiterated the delay. Supposedly, the post touched on the March announcement for the Oppo Find 9 as mere rumors. However, the Weibo post did not indicate when the new flagship can be expected.

It is said that when the Oppo Find 9 hits the shelves, it will feature a new Qualcomm processor. Previously, speculations suggested that the new flagship will come out with Snapdragon 821 chipset. However, since Qualcomm has already confirmed development for Snapdragon 835, a post-March 2017 release for the Oppo Find 9 will likely include the newer processor. The processor maker has hinted that it will start to ship out the new SD 835 chipset by the early months of 2017.

Other expected specs and features for the Oppo Find 9 include a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with Quad HD resolution. As a flagship, the new Snapdragon 835 chipset will likely be paired with at least 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. Meanwhile, it is also expected that the upcoming flagship will come as a selfie device, as Oppo's current flagships, the R9s and R9s Plus, came out with a 16-MP rear camera and selfie shooter in front.

Meanwhile, the delay for the Oppo Find 9 release has also been reiterated by noted analyst Pan Jiutang. According to the analyst, the wait for the Find 9 will be a lot longer, hinting that it may take until the second quarter of 2017 for the flagship to be launched. He also hinted at the delay by advising fans who are waiting for the Oppo Find 9 to get the OnePlus 3T or the Vivo Xplay 6 instead.
