Christians didn't buy Oprah Winfrey's new miniseries called "Belief" even as they suspected that her new television project was meant to promote false ideas about Christianity.

Jennifer LeClaire, editor of Charisma News, writes in the website that the miniseries supposedly about Winfrey's Christian faith seemed to be all for show. The series, which started on Oct. 18, had its final episode on Saturday.

"Oprah's sudden river of religious talk is not based on some newfound appreciation for Christianity. It's marketing spin for her new series, 'Belief,' which the media pioneer describes as a 'groundbreaking' television event exploring humanity's ongoing search to connect with something greater than ourselves," she says.

However, LeClaire wants to point out that never once did Oprah mention Jesus in her promotion of "Belief." At the same time, Oprah wrongly said that there is more ways other than Jesus to get to the Father. She even allowed Rob Bell to say unflattering things about the Bible during her broadcast.

"Oprah is not celebrating Jesus," writes LeClaire. "She's taking people on a 'spiritual' journey that includes many faiths and challenging them to ask the question: What do you believe?"

American evangelist Franklin Graham also believes that Oprah is wrong about the path to God. "A personal relationship with Almighty God through His Son Jesus Christ is the only thing that can fill the void in the human heart," Graham writes in his Facebook page. "This is not a matter of opinion—Jesus said, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to Father except through Me.' One way, one Saviour, no exceptions."

LeClaire adds that she admires what Oprah has accomplished, and she lauds her for using her success to help other people.

However, LeClaire is concerned that there are some people who would be "led astray" by Oprah, despite her kind intentions.

"I'm praying and waiting on the day that she turns her heart fully to Jesus Christ and uses her celebrity status to exalt Him and Him alone. He is worthy," she says.
