Oprah Winfrey Golden Globes speech news: Christians show their approval on social media
Oprah Winfrey drew a lot of praise and inspiration from numerous people after a lengthy speech during the Golden Globes event this year. The speech was recognized and respected so much that people have expressed their desire for the former television talk show host to run for President of the United States in 2020. However, some influential Christian personalities have looked past all the glitz and glamor of Hollywood, and simply appreciated her words.
During the Golden Globes, Winfrey gave an empowering speech, alluding to the importance of truth given the turmoil that the media has been under in the past few months. This was generally brought on by the sexual allegations that dozens of women have come forward with, revealing the corruption and abuse that go on behind the scenes, away from the public eye. By the end of it, most, if not, all of the attendees of the awards ceremony were on their feet.
In an Instagram post by Erica Campbell, who is one of of the Gospel singing Mary Mary duo, shared her thoughts on Winfrey's Golden Globes speech, stating that Winfrey has successfully motivated and inspired her. For those reasons, she thanked Winfrey and duly congratulated her for receiving the Golden Globes Lifetime Achievement Award. It appears that Campbell agrees with Winfrey's vision, which could be indicative of the Christian belief.
This is just one of the many similar reactions that most people have been saying on social media, and Winfrey's rapport has been through the roof ever since. Another Christian personality that applauded Winfrey's words is Hollywood producer and Christian preacher Devon Franklin -- who stated that Winfrey's speech was "transcendent."
At this point, many people are not just speculating that Winfrey might run for President next time, but people have been clear that they want her to run. Although nothing has been officially confirmed on Winfrey's side, only time will tell if she indeed has any political intentions.
