American media proprietor Oprah Winfrey has finally broken her silence about the recent speculations alluding to the possibility of her running for president in 2020. Winfrey shut down the rumors and rumblings during a recent interview, stating that she has absolutely no interest in possibly going up against current American president Donald Trump when the time comes.

In an interview with InStyle Magazine, it is apparent that Winfrey is certainly aware of the general public's desire for her to run for office in 2020. In fact, she stated during the interview that someone had recently approached her after her acclaimed Golden Globes speech, and offered aid for her presidential campaign, if ever she was interested. The media mogul declined the offer, and stated that the life of being president is not something that she wants to do.

Furthermore, the 63-year-old went on to say that she is fully aware of what she is capable of as a person, and that she does not have the necessary genetics to become a politician of that stature. Despite the former talk show host's reluctance to run for office, her friends and business partners have not given up trying to convince her otherwise.

Winfrey claims that her closest friends have been telling her about the public's rumblings on the possibility of her becoming president in the future. One friend of Winfrey's even told her that if she becomes president, it would do the country a lot of good. However, these pleas have not swayed Winfrey's decision. It is notable to mention that Winfrey is a longtime member of the Democratic party, to which she has made significant financial contributions.

Despite the release of the interview, Winfrey's fans and followers have not given up on the possibility that the media mogul may just end up in the next presidential race. Additionally, Cormac Flynn, who is a Democratic political consultant, formed a committee whose purpose is to persuade Winfrey to run for president. The committe was formed right after Winfrey's speech at the Golden Globes.

The interview was published last Thursday, Jan. 25.
