"Orange is the New Black" season 4 is still underway in production, with Instagram photos and rumors leaking almost every other day. For instance, it was earlier rumored that Caitlyn Jenner might appear in the new season but Netflix reportedly confirmed that it isn't so. One thing that appears to be true, though, is that the season may premiere in June 2016.

According to iDigital Times, it is likely that the next season will premiere early in June next year given that the previous seasons have done so as well. Season 2 opened on June 6, 2014 while season 3 was launched last June 11. The only time the show didn't followed this trend was on its freshman year when it premiered on July 11, 2013.

All three previous seasons of "Orange is the New Black" are currently available for viewers to stream and binge-watch on Netflix. Given that the series is produced in-house for Netflix, it is highly unlikely that the three seasons will be taken down. It is also less likely that season 4 will be shuffled to a different release date to give room for a different show.

With a release still a year away, no official plot details and spoilers have yet been given but according to a report from TVGuide, the season's main issue will revolve around the prison getting overpopulated. There are also speculations of Crazy Eyes (Uzo Aduba) getting a real romantic interest this time around.

The only confirmed detail about season 4 at this point is that Alex (Laura Prepon) survived the events that happened in the season 3 finale. Despite surviving, she will be watching over her back throughout season 4 and will be ready to fight back the moment a threat arises.

"I don't think you're going to see a more timid side of Alex," Prepon explained to TVGuide. "If anything, she's justified in her paranoia ... That empowers her, in my opinion."
