'Orange Is the New Black' season 4 to bring back Nicky?

 Netflix

A few months back, actress Natasha Lyonne was interviewed by Entertainment Weekly regarding the possibility of her return to "Orange Is the New Black" this upcoming fourth season. According to a recent report from Unreality TV, this interview may be the indication fans have been waiting for to confirm she is indeed coming back.

Ever since the series began production on season 4, the cast and crew have been quiet regarding the season's plot and characters, with only a few Instagram or Twitter posts here and there to remind people that the show is indeed filming. However, this silence from the show's creators and from Lyonne indicate she may be filming her scenes already.

It is pointed out in the report that Entertainment Weekly would not have featured the actress if there were no chances of her reprising her role as Nicky. Merely choosing to interview her months after her character was written off the show hints that Netflix has plans of seeing her return after spending time in a maximum security prison far away from Litchfield.

Unreality TV also lists down Lyonne's response when asked if her character would return. Lyonne only stated that her character would significantly change, either accepting to grow up and change for the better or may become even angrier and more rebellious. However, she did not  mention that she was not coming back at all.

Fans will recall that Nicky was shipped off to the maximum security prison early on in season 3 after she was betrayed during a drug deal and later accussed as a hopeless drug addict. She was shipped off and was never mentioned again. If the character returns in season 4, fans will finally get an idea of what happened to her during her time away.

"Orange Is the New Black" season 4 is currently in production but has no official release date scheduled. It is expected to premiere in summer 2016.
