'Orange is the New Black' season 4 premiere spoilers: What's next for Pennsatucky?

Netflix

Netflix has yet to announce the official release date of "Orange Is The New Black" season 4, but several speculations about the series have already been going around as a way to help fans deal with the long wait.

A report on Melty recently talked about the sudden changes that happened in Taryn Manning's character Pennsatucky. According to the article, the character went through a sudden personality make-over during the last three seasons of the show.

In season 1, the character whose legal name is Tiffany Doggett could be considered as the show's main villain. She used to be Alex Vause (Laura Prepon) and Piper Chapman's (Taylor Schilling) biggest enemy. She even caused a lot of problems inside the Litchfield Penitentiary as soon as she came in. She also had a big brawl with Piper before the end of the season.

But season 2 and 3 showed a major change in Pennsatucky after her friendship with Sam Healy (Michael J. Harney) and Carrie "Big Boo" Black (Lea DeLaria) suddenly turned sour.

Pennsatucky was also raped by prison guard Charlie Coates (James McMenamin) in season 3. This further turned her into a more mellow, more positive inmate.

However, the changes do not mean that things will continue to go uphill. Things could change negatively in an instant.

Meanwhile, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that "Mad Men" director Matthew Weiner will direct one of the episodes of "Orange Is The New Black" season 4.

This will be the first time for Weiner to direct something that he did not write.

Prepon shared her thoughts about having Weiner on board the show. The actress also told the website that the production for the upcomning season is currently on-going.

"We filmed a huge day on Sunday, and a lot of directors might have been overwhelmed by that, but he wasn't and he knew exactly what he wanted to do," the actress said. "With a huge cast like ours, when you have a director who knows exactly what they want, it makes everything go a lot smoother. I love Matt -- he's awesome."

"Orange is the New Black" season 4 is slated to air in 2016.
