"We started shooting season three the first week of June. We should be done around the end of this year. It's amazing. I think more of [what we saw in season two], but what our show does so well is has a balance between the very serious and the comedic," she told MTV.

A slew of new characters will be introduced next season and some characters will be part of the regular cast. Topping the list of the new series regulars is Laura Prepon, who plays the role of Alex Vause or Piper's lover. Lolly (Lory Petty) will make a comeback next season and comedian Mike Birbiglia will join the cast.
