Orlando Bloom and Nina Dobrev not dating, insider claims

Nina Dobrev and Orlando Bloom are not dating, contrary to recent reports.

"The Vampire Diaries" actress recently made headlines when she was spotted in Los Angeles with "The Lord of the Rings" star. Hollywood Life reported last week that the pair were "all smiles" while stepping out of the premiere of "The Promise." Various media outlets have picked up on the celebrities' alleged relationship since then, but a source close to Dobrev recently set the record straight.

"Nina and Orlando are just friends," the insider told Entertainment Tonight, adding, "They have the same manager and have known each other for a long time. There is nothing romantic going on between them two."

Dobrev and Bloom were also seen in Coachella over the weekend, but they did not attend the event together. The actress was partying with her own squad at the time, while the 40-year-old actor was seen being friendly with women who are not Dobrev.

The rumor of a romance between the duo comes after Bloom's break-up from Katy Perry. Us Magazine reports that Bloom and the "Chained to the Rhythm" singer were together for more than a year when they ended their relationship in February. A source close to the former couple said the exes decided to split because they realized that "they make better best friends than they do partners."

Earlier this year, Bloom opened up about his relationship with Perry. He said he and the pop diva have moved on from their split and have actually stayed friends. The actor stressed that what happened between them proves that break-ups do not always equate to hate.

"We're friends, it's good. We're all grown up. She happens to be someone who is very visible, but I don't think anybody cares about what I'm up to," Bloom told Elle UK. "Nor should they. It's between us. It's better to set an example for kids and show that [breakups] don't have to be about hate," he added.

Meanwhile, Dobrev was last linked to "Dolphin Tale" actor Austin Stowell. She also dated her leading man in "The Vampire Diaries" Ian Somerhalder until their relationship came to an end in 2013.
