BBC has released a brand new teaser for "Orphan Black" season 4. It was short but sinister and it did not provide as much insight into the upcoming season as one would expect. If anything, it was engineered to make fans clamor for more.

The promo, which ran for only 15 seconds, featured a close up shot of one eye of Rachel, who, in the last season, got her replacement eye, all thanks to her mother Susan Duncan. Rachel's mother was gone for a while and it was confirmed that she is working for the Neolution conspiracy.

In "Orphan Black" season 4, the story is that Sarah will embark on a perilous journey to track down the "elusive and mysterious" ally to Beth. This puts her face to face with a formidable foe that has the means and the power to separate her from her sestras permanently.

TV Fanatic believes that the teaser hints of Sarah's greater role in the new season, considering what has transpired last season and the eyeball symbolism in the promo. Sarah will find herself slipping into her old habits and the potent new enemy will gradually break the sisters apart.

"Orphan Black" season 4 will be special in the sense that it will feel like the first season, the very season that hooked millions of its fans to the clones' unique story in the first place. Co-creator John Fawcett has told Variety that the vibe in the upcoming season will be very nostalgic.

"I want a lot of that paranoia back, and Sarah following a first-person mystery, and a feeling of not knowing where we stand again, and having the audience not know where we stand," he stated.

"How do we give it a feeling of conclusion after three seasons and now push towards our bigger mystery? We just wanted a reset after season three and a big emotional ending," Fawcett added, as he recounted how he and co-creator Graeme Manson put together "Orphan Black" season 4.

The new season of the series will premiere April 2016.
