Latest rumors claim that one of Tatiana Maslany's clones in "Orphan Black," Rachel Duncan, will not appear next season.

The production of the third season of the award-winning sci-fi TV series is already underway. This has been confirmed by the TV series' official Twitter account. The team posted a photo showing the first table read of the plans and script of season 3.

The photo shows the place where Tatiana Maslany is seated. The paper on the table shows the names of the clones that she plays, namely Sarah, Alison, Cosima, and Helena. Surprisingly, Rachel Duncan is not included in the list of names, and it seems that it is not the issue of space.

This immediately sparked speculations that Rachel will not appear next season, and it is still unknown what story the writers will weave in order to explain her possible absence in season 3.

Rachel Duncan was raised by Neolutionists and was aware of her genetic-identity. Although she was tasked not to kill her clones and to make allegiance with them, she wanted to control her clones, especially Sarah and her daughter Kira. This news will surely sadden Rachel's fans. Although her character is annoying, it has spawned followers because she is against her own kind.

In the previous season, Rachel kidnapped Kira to lure Sarah and to possibly control her. However, it ended in a fight. Sarah poked Rachel in the eye using a pencil as a makeshift weapon. It was also revealed last season that the Dyad Institute made all of the clones to form a military. With the emergence of a bigger enemy, Rachel is ruled out as irrelevant. Moreover, a male version of the clones hinted by Mark's character made the enemy much bigger to handle for Sarah and her clones. This could be the reason for Rachel's elimination next season.

"Orphan Black" is coming back in spring 2015.
