The first season of "Outlander" ended with Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) sailing to France after they went through a painful ordeal in the hands of Jonathan Randall (Tobias Menzies). But before they left Scotland, Claire told Jamie that she is pregnant, and in season 2, it looks life fans will get to meet their child.

According to E! News, the series is reportedly looking to cast Brianna, Claire and Jamie's biological daughter. As season 2 will be based on the second book of Diana Gabaldon's "Outlander" series titled "Dragonfly in Amber," fans should expect that there will be a time jump and that they'll meet Brianna not as a baby but as a fully-grown woman in her 20's.

Brianna is described as being very tall, with long red hair, high cheek bones, and slanted blue eyes — the very image of her father. But she will have the last name Randall, taken from Claire's husband in the future Frank Randall, and the site reports that she will be raised by him in Boston.

Season 2 will reportedly deviate from the "Outlander" books as Brianna will follow her mother back in time in search of her real father, and while this does take place in the books, it doesn't happen until the fourth book titled "Drums of Autumn."

Meanwhile, "Outlander" executive Ronald D. Moore told E! that aside from casting Brianna, the show is also looking for someone to play Claire and Jamie's adopted son Fergus, who is described as being about 10 years old, with black hair, pale skin, and a beaked nose.

Moore said that they are taking the time to find the perfect actors, revealing to the website that they have not cast the roles yet.

"It's a long chain that gets you to finding actors, as we went through with Cait and Sam. Sometimes you find them right away, sometimes you have to keep looking," he said.

As for Claire and Jamie, Moore said that fans should expect that the pair will be sporting very different looks in season 2 as they will be living in Paris. Moore told Entertainment Weekly that far from the heavy and simple clothing that they wore while they were in Scotland, the pair will now be more stylishly dressed as they will be a part of the city's aristocratic world.

"Outlander" season 2 is slated to premiere on Starz in 2016.
