Actors Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe opened up about their characters entering parenthood while confronting more problems in "Outlander" season 2.

Balfe, who portrays Claire, said that having a baby "changes everything" and evokes emotions that her character never thought would come rushing back. 

"When you kind of believe that something is impossible and then that changes... it brings up a lot of stuff about her own family and her past. She lost her parents when she was 5, so she's never really had that kind of mother figure there to guide her," the actress told Access Hollywood. "And I think it brings up a lot of that stuff for her, but it's something that brings Jamie and Claire really together, and it's a beautiful part of the story." 

During a chat with TV Magazine, she revealed that parenting the little one is something the couple surprisingly does in accord. Balfe sai that the different time periods they live in do not conflict in their desire to be great parents to their child. Fans won't see them struggling in determining what to do for their growing family as their identical viewpoint in life makes them move and act in harmony. 

Despite this though, Heughan, who plays Jaime, reveals it won't be easy in the sense that season 2 takes them to a "new world," and the complicated goings-on in the French court takes away the time they could instead use on taking care of their chilld.  

France will be the next stop for the couple come "Outlander" season 2. Jaime and Claire will journey there to stop the Battle of Culloden from happening. This new environment will eliminate the "very gritty and earthy" atmosphere of season 1.
